Other pieces are created for a shared experience. For the bride, the groom and the wedding party. For the women who pivot together, who cross thresholds hand in hand, wanting a talisman to remind them of their accomplishments and intentions.
Cristen takes on a small number of custom commissions each year. The process is collaborative from the first conversation — the symbolism you want your design to hold, the stones that call, the lines, the texture, the finish....every little detail. It begins with a conversation. Share your inspiration and she will help you build the piece of your dreams. She works with repurposed material, family stones, grandma's wedding ring, anything meaningful to you.
Once Cristen has clarity around your wishes, she will sketch two to three design ideas with a recommended creative approach. You will refine together until the design feels exactly right. Waxes will be prepared , stones will be chosen, all measurements perfected and approved before the piece goes into production.
The piece is made between Cristen and the artisans she trusts. There will be multiple check-ins throughout the process, allowing for changes to be made if needed. Most commissions take eight to twelve weeks, depending on style and complexity.
The piece is delivered with a written record of the making — the stones, the metals, a full appraisal and the small choices that built it. Yours, and the wearer's, for a lifetime.
